About Saalem Camp
For generations, Saalem Church has been blessed with a beautiful camp property on Warnica Lake, just north of Thunder Bay.
Over the years, generations of our church family have made unforgettable memories and built lifelong friendships through kids camps, youth rallies and retreats. Saalem Camp has become a special place where people of all ages can swim, have campfires, and, of course, go for a sauna, a favourite tradition carried forward from our Finnish roots.
More importantly, Saalem Camp has been a place of great spiritual significance. Many people have encountered God here, decided to follow Jesus, been baptized, and experienced life-changing moments of worship, prayer, and fellowship. The stories and memories created at Warnica Lake continue to be an important part of Saalem’s history.
Throughout the year, Saalem Camp hosts a variety of gatherings, including summer kids camp, youth events and retreats, men’s gatherings, church barbecues, and our winter avanto tradition of sauna followed by a polar plunge.

Any visitors to Saalem Camp must be accompanied by a church member or attending a church event. We encourage you to keep an eye on our events for the next gathering out at camp!

Our main camp building has a kitchen, hall, and chapel area. Outhouses are also available. For recreation, we have multiple sauna buildings, a small beach area, and two docks. There are plenty of grassy areas to hang out and a volleyball court as well.
